Die Gemeinde befindet sich am Eingang zum Bleniotal, 19 km nördlich Bellinzona, am linken Ufer des Brenno. 3 km östlich von Biasca liegt auf einer Terrasse des Pizzo Magno der kleine See von Carigiolo, dem der gegenüber dem Bahnhof in bis zu 80 Meter hohen Wasserfällen abstürzende Bach entspringt. Zur Gemeinde gehören auch die Ortschaften Loderio, Ponte, Pontirone, Sant'Anna und Valle.
