Wila liegt im Tösstal zwischen den Gemeinden Turbenthal und Bauma. Im Osten grenzt die Gemeinde an den Kanton Thurgau im Westen an die Gemeinde Wildberg. Weiler in der näheren Umgebung von Wila sind: Schalchen (SW), Tablat (SO), Aegetswil (O), Au (S) und Sitzberg (NO). Der Landwirtschaft dienen 38.3% der Gemeindefläche, 51% ist Wald, besiedelt ist 6.4% und 2.9% dient dem Verkehr.
